I can't make this stuff up

Counsel would like to enter the following as state's evidence 45723A that law students, in concentrated form, are unforgivably lame:

[from the unmoderated listserv]
"The difference between using "coke" generically (disclaimer: I did this when I was young) and kleenex/band-aid is that when you ask for a kleenex or a band-aid you don't really care if you actually get a kleenex brand tissue or a band-aid brand bandage or if you get some other tissue or bandage--you just want a tissue or a bandage and any kind will do. This isn't the case with "coke." When you ask for a "coke" and you mean it generically as soft-drink, there is a problem: When you use "coke" generically presumably you want something specific, you might want an actual Coca-Cola, or you might want a Root Beer, or 7-up, etc. It lacks efficiency because the offerer will then need to ask you what kind of "coke" you want, and you will then need to respond."

Law students really get a bad rap, you know? Oh wait, no.

I was going to write back, but sometimes you just have to let people impale themselves on their own sword. And if they're still around come December in full body-on-sword form, you can decorate them for Festivus.
