Foot, down

I'm going to go ahead and be a bit of a bitch here, and say that if your study materials include a high school chem text and an SAT prep book, you have no business in the law library reading room. I know, I'm a real hardass about weird things, but come the hell on.

So what? Maybe they're keeping their dream alive by studying in that place. Perhaps the reading room contains their mojo.

Don't be snippy about things like that. Life's too short.

Ah. I would have said life's too short to post anonymous snark on other people's blogs. Potato, potahto.

I agree with anonymous, although it's always curious to see that someone's dream is kept alive by studying amongst the most stressed-out, pedantic and self-involved group of students on the campus. After 1st year, I couldn't study in the law library anymore -- the tension level there was too high. Law students have a kind of morbid paranoia that they infect each other with. Sadly, that morbid paranoia becomes one of the hallmarks of their professional identity upon graduation.

Sorry 'bout the anonymous thing. But posting with my Blogger account doesn't seem ta work.

Whatev. Let them be. As long as no harm's done, who cares? I see Joe Public in our Medical School library all the time, and I say more power to them. After all, their tax dollars *did* and *does* pay for our faboo facilities. Just a thought.

Oh, and congrats on finally being the fish that found her home waters. I knew you'd be happy. :)

Yours,

P

B- for what its worth I'd prefer it if use of the reading room was limited to law students. I actually pay an exorbitant sum to attend this law school, and yes my tuition in concert with law school alumni donations does cover much if not all of the facilites upkeep. In fact total revenue from this law school subsidizes many other aspects of campus. So when I need a quiet place to study - I'd prefer not to have to deal with loud inconsiderate high school or undergraduate students. You want to be inspired take the damn LSAT and apply.

Yep, our revenue is pretty all-encompassing. And it should be noted that my experience with rude, loud, messy people in the reading room has entirely involved either undergrads or high school students.
